How Does it Work?
Wondercide's BioDefense formulation of Cedar Oil and Hydrated Silica dissolves the insect egg and larvae eliminating the next generation of insects on your property. The aroma of Cedar creates a barrier of re-entry, making the treated area off limits to any flying insects, crawling pests or parasites. The aroma of cedar to insects is like that of ammonia to humans. All insects breathe through their bodies and close their breathing pores when they detect the aroma of cedar. It causes a flight response. If they can't evacuate the area, they suffocate themselves trying and die. BioDefense is a Non Toxic, contact kill insect control.
How Long Does it Last?
For active insect populations, it is imperative to treat all indoor and outdoor areas for complete elimination. Fogging with BioDefense will eliminate insects immediately with a lengthy residual. As long as the pets coming and going don't bring in new fleas, which can be achieved by treating your lawn with EcoTreat every 4-6 weeks and keeping your pet treated with Evolv on a weekly basis, you should only need to fog once a year.
For indoor parasite (flea, tick, bed bug, mite) treatment, use BioDefense in the Fogger. Do not vacuum for 72 hours which will allow the solution to fully penetrate and dissolve any eggs, larvae, and pupae in the environment. Fogging with BioDefense allows the solution to reach all areas of the home in humidity size droplets. One fogging typically eliminates pests completely. If an area didn't receive enough fog or if there is a severe infestation, additional treatments may be needed.
Occasionally use BioDefense on pet beds to ensure controlled elimination of the flea life cycle as your pet comes and goes from your treated property. BioDefense has a lengthy residual. It's non toxic so you can't use too much. Approved for everyday use.
How Does BioDefense compare to Chemical Pesticides?
It doesn't. Chemical-based treatments utilize water or petroleum distillates as a carrier for their active ingredients, most often Permethrins, or other formulations using primitive, nerve gas byproducts, commonly referred to as Pyrethroids. Home owners can easily initiate do it yourself treatments by using our non thermal ULV fogger. The ultimate in flea, mite & bed bug eradication is fogging with 1 gallon of BioDefense per 1,500 sqft. Depending on the severity of parasite infestation, additional treatment(s) may be required. You can also provide the solution to your exterminator or pest control operator for application.
