Shea is a natural, cold-pressed oil that comes from the African karite nut. Shea is renowned for promoting capillary circulation and combatting wrinkles, and it's a natural moisturizer that heals troubled, dry, or aging skin. Our pure shea butter has a high concentration of non-saponifiable fatty acids (stearic and loeic acid) that promote skin health. These fatty acids boost the skin's moisture by promoting cell growth and improving elasticity.
Pure Organic Shea Butter is naturally fragrance-free and gentle enough to use on baby, too! Packaged in a 100% post-consumer-waste (PCW), biodegradable jar that can be recycled or composted. Designed for a light environmental footprint.
This fragrance-free version of pure shea butter is perfect for those with sensitive skin or fragrance/chemical sensitvities.

Why is my shea butter white?
Different regions of Africa produce different shades of shea butter. The color of the shea butter varies from white, to golden, to darkish tan, depending on its source.
Our shea butter is produced in Ghana by a community of women who gather and crack the karite nuts with rocks, crush them with a mortar and pestle, then roast and grind the nuts into a paste. The women knead the paste by hand, adding water in order to separate the butter oils, which float to the top and are removed. They then melt the shea butter again, skim off the top, and leave the butter to cool and harden.
The women do all of this by hand, using traditions and tools that have been handed down for generations. This production process uses clean water and removes all dirt and debris from the shea butter.
How long will my shea butter last? Will it stay fresh?
Yes, the biodegradable jar keeps your shea butter fresh. Pure Organic Shea Butter has a shelf life of two years. Refer to the bottom of your shea jar for its expiration date. Store your jar in a cool, dry place.
Can I travel with my Pure Organic Shea Butter?
Yes. Be sure to keep the inner packing disk and place this in your shea jar before traveling. For extra protection, place your entire jar in a sealed plastic bag.
