As Seen on Shark Tank!

From getting on the show, to prepping for airing, to life after Shark Tank!

In March 2016, Wondercide braved the world of reality TV, and we are so happy to share the fruits of this crazy, huge experience with you. We submitted our application over 18 months ago with more than 40,000(!) other companies. Only 120 of those made it to air, so you can see why we are so excited to have been given this amazing opportunity to share our message with the world!

We actually got this wonderful opportunity the old-fashioned way – by applying through the ABC website! People wonder what the secret is to getting your application read, and the key is just to follow instructions to the T. The process really works! We got the call from Shark Tank casting literally a matter of hours after Luna, the founding Wonderpup (and the reason Wondercide exists!), passed away. We carried on in her memory and could feel her supporting us every step of the way from The Rainbow Bridge. The application process went from March 2014 until we stood in front of The Sharks in early June 2015. Throughout the whole process, we were also fully focused on growing Wondercide as a business, so let's just say there were a LOT of long hours!

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Wondercide, so we knew how important it was to make the most of it. To get ready for the big day of filming, we watched every episode, wrote every question ever asked, focused specifically on other consumer packaged goods companies, studied each of the Sharks' previous deals, preferences, and mannerisms, pulled together every metric for our business for the last 5 years and drilled each other to perfect our pitch.

There are over 40,000 applicants every season, and only 120 make it to air. So, that's a 0.3% chance that you’ll get all the way through! As you move through each step of the process, there's no guarantee that you'll keep going, so you just have to be careful about what you're investing in terms of time and resources. Up until we got our plane tickets, we weren't sure if it would really happen. And we are so grateful that it did!

When it came to the actual airing of the episode, preparation included everything from testing the website for high traffic, to prepackaging Shark Tank kits, to scheduling our team to answer a massive influx of phone calls and emails. While we were certainly expecting things to pick up, we could never have predicted just how crazy it would get. On the night Wondercide aired on Shark Tank, orders were up 2,000%!

We are incredibly thankful for this chance to reach such a gigantic audience and educate our customers about the importance of using safe products for your family and pets. Our hope is really that it becomes commonplace to protect the ones you love without poisons.

We invited 300 of our closest friends and colleagues to watch our Shark Tank episode with us for the first time ever at Wondercide HQ. We also live-streamed the whole party for all our favorite people – and pets – who couldn't make it to the party. It was amazing to be surrounded by all our supporters (in person and virtually) during the big day. (You can see some photos from the party at the bottom of the page!)
