Wondercide's BioDefense is made of Cedar Oil and silicic acid (melted quartz rock) that dissolves the insect egg and larvae eliminating the next cycle of insects to hatch. It had a strong smell at first but it went away in a few hours. We had fleas in our apartment and tried this smaller size before we spent money on the gallon (my husband was hesitant). It killed the fleas and we were so excited that we bought the gallon to finish spraying everything! I still can't believe how fast this works and how safe it is for our family. I did some research with biodefense and brown recluses. I found a small spider and he stopped moving in about 15-20 seconds, was curled up in a ball and completely dead in about 45. Caught a good sized BR by the side of my house where I think they have been nesting in the basement window wells, that one took a good minute to die, but he was a tank. It definately kills them and since I've been using it, I don't really see them around anymore. Good Stuff.
