How to DIY Pest Control

Like any pest control objective, application depends on the insect or parasite. For prevention & maintenance, use every few months. Spray under sinks, in pantry, closets, bathroom, laundry room, cracks & crevices or anywhere insects reside. Spray around windows and doors. With routine outdoor treatment using Wondercide EcoTreat lawn spray, BioDefense® natural pesticide will protect indoors for several months.

For parasite (flea, tick, bed bug, mite) control use BioDefense® until the objective is achieved. Use often on pet beds to ensure elimination of fleas as your pet comes and goes from your treated property. BioDefense® has a lengthy residual. It's not harmful so you can't use too much. Approved for everyday use.

For active insect populations, it is imperative to treat all indoor areas for complete elimination. Only 5% of the flea life cycle are adult fleas (the ones you see). The other 95% are in egg and larvae stages. In order to rid your home of fleas, you must treat the entire property (indoor/outdoor) and pets. Natural pesticides are proving to be more effective.

How Does BioDefense® compare to Chemical Pesticides?

Natural pesticides don't work the same way. Chemical-based treatments utilize water or petroleum distillates as a carrier for their active ingredients, most often Permethrins, or other formulations using primitive, nerve gas byproducts, commonly referred to as Pyrethroids. Wondercide BioDefense® combines its proprietary cedar oil blend of Texas Red Cedar and melted quartz. These two ingredients create an instant kill to fleas, ticks, mites and bed bugs.   It had a strong smell at first but it went away in a few hours. We had fleas in our apartment and tried this smaller size before we spent money on the gallon (my husband was hesitant).   I did some research with biodefense and brown recluses. I found a small spider and he stopped moving in about 15-20 seconds, was curled up in a ball and completely dead in about 45. Caught a good sized BR by the side of my house where I think they have been nesting in the basement window wells, that one took a good minute to die, but he was a tank. It definitely kills them and since I've been using it, I don't really see them around anymore. Good Stuff.

  When I read that biodefense shouldn't be used on plants, it got me thinking... so I went out and carefully sprayed the thistles that I have such a hard time getting rid of in my landscaping. Within 2 hours they were brown and dead... 2 weeks later they haven't come back. I now have a pet friendly weed killer!! I know you don't advertise this as a feature, but I am thrilled to have this in my arsenal. I can now treat my weeds and allow my pets to use the yard. It also doesn't seem to be affecting the plants I want in the yard at all. Thanks!!
