    How Does It Work?

The active ingredient in Wondercide Flea & Tick products is cedar oil, which has been used for centuries to protect from pests (think Grandma’s cedar chest!). Cedar oil works by blocking octopamine, which is necessary to regulate heart rate, movement, and metabolism in “bad bugs” like fleas and ticks. When cedar oil is present in the area, pests are repelled. When contacted by cedar oil, pests die.  *For indoor flea & tick infestations, use Wondercide Natural Flea & Tick Control for Pets + Home.

Natural pesticides don't work the same way as chemical pesticides. Chemical-based treatments utilize water or petroleum distillates as a carrier for their active ingredients, most often permethrins, or other formulations using primitive, nerve gas byproducts, commonly referred to as pyrethroids.

How Much Product Do I Need?

That depends on if you are treating or preventing pest problems. You use the same product for both, but the amount you apply will be different.

For TREATMENT of active pest problems, we recommend treating using an 8oz dilution on Day 1 and Day 7 and then every 30-45 days, as needed, or after heavy rain. Exact application instructions are below.

    For treatment @ 8oz dilution:

    • 16oz Concentrate treats up to 8,000 sq ft. (or up to .18 acres)
    • 32oz Concentrate treats up to 16,000 sq ft. (or up to .37 acres)
    • 1 Gallon Concentrate treats up to 64,000 sq ft. (or up to 1.5 acres)
    • 5 Gallon Concentrate treats up to 320,000 sq ft. (or up to 7.35 acres)

For PREVENTION  and maintenance, we recommend applying a 6oz dilution every 30-45 days, as needed, or after heavy rain. Exact application instructions are below.

    For prevention @ 6oz dilution:

    • 16oz Concentrate treats up to 10,500 sq ft. (or up to .25 acres)
    • 32oz Concentrate treats up to 21,000 sq ft. (or up to .5 acres)
    • 1 Gallon Concentrate treats 84,000 sq ft. (or up to 2 acres)
    • 5 Gallon Concentrate treats up to 420,000 sq ft. (or up to 9.65 acres)

    How to Use

Dilution ratios vary by application. Stronger mixtures will enhance results without damaging side effects.

You can see only 5% of fleas! The rest are invisible.

For Treatment of Active Pest Problems:

For best results treating active flea & tick problems, we recommend our Full Treatment Kit, which contains FLEA & TICK | Natural Outdoor Flea, Tick & Mosquito Control for Yard + Garden. This will ensure you're also treating your pet and home to full eliminate the problem.

Ways to Apply Outdoor Pest Control for Treatment:

To treat an active problem, you must apply twice within 7-10 days to ensure you break the egg cycle. We recommend the Hose End Sprayer method when applying for treatment of active pest problems.

Hose End Sprayer: Apply OUTDOOR | Natural Pest Control Concentrate to you outdoor areas, like lawn and patio. Pests come from outside, so treating outdoors is critical to stopping the flea, tick and pest cycle. Using an 8oz dilution ratio, start at your home and spray top to bottom. Continue onto the lawn, working your way back to the fence line. Repeat until you've sprayed your yard and patio. There are two recommended application methods for treatment of a flea or tick problem:

      • Using a pre-mix hose end sprayer, pour 8oz of concentrate and fill to the top with warm water.
      • Using a dial sprayer, add enough concentrate for your coverage area and set to 1 TBS.

    Other application methds include:

Fog: For outdoor applications, mix 8oz of Natural Outdoor Pest Control per gallon of water for mosquito and flying insect control.

Misting System: Mix 16-25 oz Natural Outdoor Pest Control in 50 gallons of water. Adding water is the preferred way to initially mix this soluble solution. Increase frequency and duration to improve performance levels.

Irrigation System: Injection Rates of 1500 to 2500 to 1 provide satisfactory delivery of Natural Outdoor Pest Control during 1 to 2 minute watering cycles. Adjust injector controls to increase or decrease usage. Increase delivery time for enhanced performance.

Laundry: Mix 2 oz per wash load, along with laundry detergent

    For Prevention & Maintenance:

Like any pest control maintenance schedule, how often you apply Natural Pest Control will depend on your local insect pressure & critter population. Critters like raccoons, opossum & squirrels are known carriers of parasites.  Insects like fleas, ticks, & mosquitoes thrive in moist, warm, shady areas. In general, a 30-45 day routine treatment or after heavy rain is the best practice and usually the cheapest solution to pest management. As needed, spray the lawn after mowing, protect your garden from pests, or spray for lawn fleas, lawn ticks, and mosquitoes before outdoor events. Use as often as needed for a natural, pest free environment.

Hose End Sprayer: Using a pre-mix hose end sprayer, pour 6oz of concentrate and fill to the top with warm water. Using a dial sprayer, add enough concentrate for your coverage area and set to 2 TSP.

Compression: Mix 4 oz. of Outdoor Pest Control per gallon of water. Use one gallon of solution per 1,000 sqft surface area.

Fog: For outdoor applications, mix 6oz of Natural Outdoor Pest Control per gallon of water for mosquito and flying insect control.
