How to Use

Read entire label prior to use and use as directed. Apply 1 tube once per month for continuous protection. Flea & Tick Spot On is water resistant, not waterproof.

1 Twist off the tip/cap of the applicator at the notch.
2 Lift or spread the fur between your pet's shoulder blades at the base of the neck until you can see skin.
3 Place the open tube on the skin and apply in a line down the back/spine to the start of the tail.
4 Allow a few minutes for the oil to spread out over the skin to prevent oil transfer onto carpets, furniture, and fabrics.
5 Apply a new tube one month later.

FAQs

Does the Spot On actually kill pests?

Wondercide Spot On repels but doesn’t kill fleas or ticks. It offers full body protection and will repel fleas and ticks when used as directed. Because fleas and ticks can spread throughout the home and yard, we recommend protecting your yard if you have one with Flea & Tick Yard + Garden. Use Flea & Tick Pets + Home as an added layer of protection when pest pressure is high or when visiting dog parks or other areas not protected by Wondercide.

What if my pet licks some of the Spot On after applying?

When applied as directed along your pet's back, licking off the Flea & Tick Spot On solution should prove difficult. The ingredients are plant-powered and have been approved as food additives. However, they were not designed or tested for consumption.

Normal self-grooming or licking is fine after application once the solution has dried. However, ingesting too much while wet may cause an upset stomach or excess salivation. Discourage pets from licking off the Spot On by offering a toy or treat to keep them occupied after the initial application.

Does Spot On still work if my dog or cat goes swimming or after a bath? Is it waterproof?

Wondercide Flea & Tick Spot On is water resistant, but not waterproof. A quick bath or swim after application may wash some of the oils off, however, some repellency should remain. For extended swims or more frequent bathing, the repellency will likely be washed off and may need to be reapplied or paired with additional protection.

Since Spot On is designed to offer 1 month of repellency, we suggest scheduling your baths monthly between applications. If you're planning on bathing your pet, do that first, then apply Spot On once dry.

Does the Spot On dry after application or stay oily?

After applying Flea & Tick Spot On, the plant-powered essential oils spread across the pet’s skin surface through the natural oily layer called sebaceous lipids. For proper application, squeeze the oil directly onto the skin along the spine, not on top of the fur. This helps ensure your dog or cat’s coat feels normal and not oily. After a day or so, the oil should be fully spread and no longer noticeable.

Applying as directed also helps prevent the oils from transferring to furniture or fabrics. It’s still a good idea to discourage your pet from rolling on furniture until the oil has had time to spread across the body. If any transfer occurs, a trusted, gentle cleaning solution should take care of it easily.

How old does my pet have to be to use the Spot On?

Spot On is safe for dogs and cats 4 months or older when used as directed. If you have a puppy or kitten younger than that, use Flea & Tick Pets + Home, which is safe for dogs and cats of all ages.
