How do I apply Flea & Tick Pets + Home?
-
For best results, follow the instructions on the label.
FOR PETS: Start with a test spray before full application to ensure your pet isn't sensitive to one of the plant powered ingredients. Pets like people can have individual sensitivities to ingredient so it's always best to check first. If no sensitivities are present after a few hours, proceed to full application. Rub pet's fur in the opposite direction of growth and spray a light, even coat over your pet's body, legs, tail, belly, and where legs meet the torso. Rub in. Apply by hand to your pet's ears and face. Avoid spraying directly in mouth, nose, and eyes. Full coverage will ensure the best results. Do not soak your pet. The spray kills by contact when wet, and repels. Reapply daily.
FOR CATS AND SMALL DOGS: Use a 4 oz spray bottle. The mist is finer for smaller pets and the size of the bottle is less intimidating.
FOR HOMES: Use on all household surfaces, testing speciality materials and fabrics like suedes or silk prior to use. Use on carpet, hard floors, furniture, fabrics, and pet bedding. Spray as much surface area as possible to help control pests. Pay close attention to warm, dark areas that retain moisture. Lemongrass oil has a naturally yellow tint and may temporarily discolor light fabrics and surfaces. Start with a test spray in a small area prior to full application. For best results, use in conjunction with Flea & Tick for Yard + Garden in any outdoor spaces.
Note: Lemongrass has a naturally yellow tint so if you have pets with light fur or white/light fabrics in your home, consider another Wondercide scent. They're equally effective.

How do I apply Flea & Tick for Yard + Garden? How often?
-
Follow label instructions for best results.
FOR TREATMENT OF ACTIVE PROBLEMS. Apply Wondercide every few days until control is established and desired results are achieved. Start at your home and spray the bottom few feet of the siding, then continue into the yard and work your way outward to the property line. Walk at a steady pace and use a sweeping motion, slightly overlapping treated areas. Thorough coverage is important, especially in shaded areas. Once control is established, use monthly or as needed to maintain results. Use in conjunction with the Flea & Tick Spray for Pets + Home to keep pets and your interior protected.
FOR PREVENTION AND MAINTENANCE. Once control is established, apply every 30-45 days, or as needed to prevent infestations. Higher concentrations and year-round use may enhance results. Use as often as needed for mosquitoes.

How does Wondercide work?
-
... and how does it kill some bugs and not others?
Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and other pheromone-driven pests utilize a neurotransmitter called octopamine to regulate vital functions, such as heart rate, movement, and behavior.
Cedarwood oil, the main active ingredient in Wondercide sprays, blocks the octopamine neurotransmitter receptors in pests, causing them to be repelled from the area. When contacted directly, pests suffocate and die. When used as directed, Wondercide is safe for mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, and beneficial insects because they do not utilize octopamine neurotransmitters in the same way that pheromone-driven pests do.
-
What is ethyl lactate?
-
Ethyl lactate is a corn oil byproduct and is listed by the USFDA as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS). Ethyl lactate acts as a surfactant, which allows the cedarwood oil to mix with water and prevents settling (dispersant).
Find out more info about other Wondercide ingredients here.
-
Will Wondercide indoor and topical products leave an oily residue or stain?
-
No, Wondercide should not stain, and with the exception of aerosols, should not leave an oily residue.
Flea & Tick Pets + Home and Indoor Pest Control will dry clean. Lemongrass scent has a naturally yellow color and may temporarily discolor light fur or fabrics. If that is a concern for your pets or interiors, please choose one of our other three scents.
When using Wondercide aerosols, including Ant & Roach, Mosquito & Fly, and Wasp & Hornet, wipe up dead bugs and excess spray after use. Use a damp cloth and soapy water if needed to remove the residue.
The oils in Wondercide Spot On take a little time to spread out over your pet’s skin. Once that happens, the oils are absorbed and you will not see oil on their coat.
-
Can I use Wondercide yard sprays (Outdoor Pest Control & Flea & Tick Yard + Garden) inside my home?
-
Our outdoor sprays were not formulated or tested for use inside the home, so you shouldn't use them in this way.
Flea & Tick Pets + Home and Indoor Pest Control for Home + Kitchen were both made specifically for use throughout your home and are pH balanced for use on and around pets and people. They come in four fresh scents so you can add spraying to your regular cleaning routine to keep your home protected from pests.
-
How do I treat my home with Flea & Tick Pets + Home?
-
To treat an active flea or tick problem indoors: Pay special attention to areas your pet frequents. Thoroughly vacuum rugs and furniture to help pull eggs and larvae to the top, then spray as much surface area in your home as possible.
Apply to flooring (even non-carpeted areas like hardwoods and tile), baseboards, furniture, and bedding. For homes with cats, be sure to treat any high up places where your feline friend may sleep or play, like bookshelves, cabinets, cat trees, etc.
Fleas prefer dark, warm, and moist areas, so spray in closets, under sinks, in laundry rooms, and under appliances and furniture. Spray until control is established and then reduce applications depending on pest pressure. For specialty surfaces, such as fabrics like satin, leather, and suede, spot test a discreet area prior to a full application.

Can I purchase the old Flea & Tick Pets + Home?
-
The original formula for Flea & Tick Pets + Home is no longer available; however, we’re confident that you’re going to LOVE the new and improved formula!
The current Flea & Tick Pets + Home spray is still powered by natural essential oils and effective for killing and repelling fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes! The instructions for use remain the same, and we think you’ll find that the scents are fresher and brighter.
-
The color of my Lemongrass spray looks different from the last bottle I purchased.
-
The lemongrass essential oil we use has a naturally occurring yellow tint, so all Wondercide Lemongrass scented products will appear a bit more yellow than the other scents. Because of variations in this plant-powered ingredient, the solution color may vary from batch to batch.
In very cold weather, the spray may also turn milky in color due to the coconut ingredients we use. It may revert to its normal color once it returns to room temperature. This change can occur even when stored properly in a shed, garage, or under a sink.
These variations are strictly cosmetic and do not affect the safety or functionality of the spray.
-
Can I spray outdoors around bodies of water?
-
Wondercide yard sprays are safe to use around lakes, ponds, or other outdoor water features when used as directed. Do not spray directly into the water because sudden changes in water composition can alter pH levels and be stressful for fish or other aquatic life.
-
How do I use the collar?
-
Wondercide Flea & Tick collars offer an alternative to conventional pest control and repel both fleas and ticks. Use in conjunction with the Flea & Tick Pets + Home whenever an added layer or protection is needed or to kill fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes. This is especially helpful during the spring and summer months when pest populations are at their highest.
- Remove collar from box and bag inside.
- Remove and discard the inner nylon strip.
- Fasten the collar around pet’s neck leaving just enough space for two stacked fingers to fit between the collar and the neck.
- Trim excess length of collar roughly 1 inch beyond the buckle.
- Remove collar before bathtime and swimming.
- Replace collar every 3-4 months.
-
How old does my pet have to be to use the Flea & Tick collar?
-
The Flea & Tick collar is designed for use on dogs and cats that are at least 4 months old. For younger pets, use Flea & Tick Pets + Home, which is made for dogs and cats of all ages.
-
Is it OK if my family and I touch (pet, hug, sleep with, cuddle) my pet while they are wearing this collar? What if we touch the collar directly?
-
Yes, it's safe for you and your family to pet, play, cuddle, or sleep with your pets as usual! The collar is plant-powered and safe around your family when used as directed.
-
Does this collar actually kill pests?
-
Flea & Tick Collar is great at repelling, but doesn’t kill fleas or ticks your pet might already have. To kill fleas and ticks by contact or for an added layer of repellency protection, use Flea & Tick Pets + Home along with the collar.
If you have an active flea infestation, start with a bath using Flea & Tick liquid shampoo, then use Flea & Tick Pets + Home and Flea & Tick Yard + Garden (if you have a yard) as directed to get rid of the issue fast. The collar can be worn while you get an infestation under control and offers ongoing repellency up to 4 months against fleas and ticks and up to 1 month for mosquitoes.
-
Can my pet go swimming with this collar on? Can I bathe them with it on?
-
The collar is water resistant; however, it’s not waterproof. Remove the collar before bathtime or swimming by simply pulling the collar back through the buckle. Then, put it back on afterward.
-
Does the collar offer full body protection, or just around the neck?
-
Yes, the collar offers full body protection and will repel most fleas and ticks most of the time when used as directed. Nothing is 100% effective 100% of the time, so we recommend protecting your yard if you have one with Flea & Tick Yard + Garden and using Flea & Tick Pets + Home as an added layer of protection when pest pressure is high or when you go to dog parks or other areas not protected by Wondercide.
-
My pet got the collar off and chewed on it. Will they be ok?
-
Chewing on the collar should not be an issue. Many pet chews are actually made from nylon. If your pet ingests part or all of the nylon collar, keep a close eye on them for signs of stress and consult your veterinarian.
-
Does the collar have a safety latch or mechanism?
-
Yes, the cat collar has a breakaway safety design with a notch in the collar that will break apart if proper tension is applied. The dog collar does not have the same breakaway feature.
