What if I’m allergic to cedar?
-
Allergies to Wondercide are not common. The cedarwood oil used in our sprays is not derived from portions of the plant that contain pollen, but rather the bark, trunk, and branches.
Your safety is our top priority. Consult with your healthcare practitioner for reassurance and do a test spray on the back of your wrist before full use for further protection.
-
Is it safe if my pet licked some of the product off?
-
Normal self-grooming or licking is fine once the solution has dried. While the ingredients are plant-powered and the sprays are safe when used as directed, they are not designed or tested for consumption. Limit excessive licking immediately after application to ensure the spray stays on your pet and remains effective. This can easily be achieved by spraying your pets before playtime, a walk, or while offering treats. Doing this will keep them distracted while the spray has a chance to dry and will also develop a positive association with being sprayed. Overconsumption may lead to an upset stomach.

I’ve read that essential oils can be toxic to pets. Is Wondercide Flea & Tick Pets + Home safe for my pets?
-
Yes! Wondercide Flea & Tick Pets + Home is safe for pets when used as directed, both cats and dogs. There are many varieties of cedarwood oil, and Wondercide specifically chooses steam-distilled natural essential oils that are approved for pets and people of all ages.
Our cedarwood oil is derived from Texas (Juniperus Ashei or Mexicana) and Virginia (Juniperus Virginiana) cedar, which do not contain phenols or phenolic compounds. This is important because cats do not have the liver enzyme to detoxify phenols found in many essential oils; that's why essential oils have a bad rap among cat crowds. We work hard to ensure superior product quality, performance, and safety.
TIP: the 4 oz. spray is perfect for cats because it’s less intimidating than bigger spray bottles and applies the proper amount of solution per spray.

Is Wondercide Flea & Tick Pets + Home safe to use on kittens and puppies?
-
Yes! Flea & Tick Pets + Home is designed for use on pets of all ages, including puppies and kittens!
Start with a spot test at the back of the neck near the shoulder blades as you would with any new product. Wait an hour or so before a full application to make sure your pet doesn't have a sensitivity. For best results, be sure to follow all label instructions.
Some studies have shown that peppermint essential oil may contribute to reduced milk production. While puppies and kittens are still nursing, choose one of our other three scents (lemongrass, cedarwood, and rosemary) which have no peppermint oil added. All scents are equally effective.
-
Can I use Wondercide with conventional flea medications or spot drops?
-
Wondercide is designed to replace conventional flea and tick control products and hasn't been tested for use alongside them. Please consult your veterinarian or consider making the switch fully to Wondercide.

Can I use Wondercide yard sprays (Outdoor Pest Control & Flea & Tick Yard + Garden) inside my home?

Can I use Wondercide on or around horses?

Wondercide wasn't designed with horses in mind. Check with your vet to be sure our solutions are right for your animal. With vet reassurance, many of our customers do successfully use Wondercide on and around their horses and livestock to protect against pests.
Both Wondercide Flea & Tick Pets + Home and Flea & Tick Yard + Garden sprays are plant-powered and safe when used as directed, but neither was designed or tested for use on horses or other livestock.
-
Can I use Wondercide yard sprays on birds and chickens?
-
Wondercide yard sprays (Flea & Tick Yard + Garden and Outdoor Pest Control) are safe for birds when used as directed and once the spray is no longer airborne. This is because they have more sensitive respiratory systems than most pets. If you are treating chicken coops or other outdoor enclosures, do not spray directly on or near your birds. Remove them from the area you'll be treating, and then reintroduce them 3-4 hours later, once the spray has had time to settle.
Our sprays are made with plant-powered, food-grade ingredients. These sprays were not designed or tested for consumption, however, when used as directed, the residue is safe for grazing animals who eat bugs or grass recently sprayed. The treatment will control fleas, ticks, and other pests in the environment.

Is Wondercide Flea & Tick Pets + Home safe for small pets like rabbits, ferrets, etc?
-
Wondercide Flea & Tick Pets + Home is designed specifically for use on dogs and cats as well as throughout the home on interior surfaces. Consult your veterinarian to discuss use on any other type of animal. If you do use Wondercide after guidance from your vet, follow the label instructions and start with the spot test noted on the bottle. Because smaller pets have more sensitive respiratory systems, remove small pets from cages or other confined spaces before spraying their environment.
-
Do I need to remove my pets or kids from the yard before treating outdoors?

Are Wondercide products safe to use around expecting mothers?
-
As with any new product you introduce during pregnancy, it is a good idea to consult with your healthcare provider first. Our natural essential oils are steam-distilled, tested for purity, and all of our ingredients are selected with the highest care. Expecting mothers have used our products for over a decade without any issues.

What should I do if I think my pet is experiencing a sensitivity/reaction to Wondercide?
-
Though rare, allergies or individual sensitives are possible even with natural products. (Think peanut or shellfish allergies.) Wondercide products are not waterproof so if you suspect your pet is experiencing an allergic reaction, gently rinse areas where applied with soap and water. Consult your veterinarian if conditions persist.
Wondercide products are safe for dogs and cats when used as directed. Our plant-powered products are made with natural essential oils that have been steam-distilled and properly diluted, which experts agree are the most important factors in essential oil safety.
-
The color of my Lemongrass spray looks different from the last bottle I purchased.
-
The lemongrass essential oil we use has a naturally occurring yellow tint, so all Wondercide Lemongrass scented products will appear a bit more yellow than the other scents. Because of variations in this plant-powered ingredient, the solution color may vary from batch to batch.
In very cold weather, the spray may also turn milky in color due to the coconut ingredients we use. It may revert to its normal color once it returns to room temperature. This change can occur even when stored properly in a shed, garage, or under a sink.
These variations are strictly cosmetic and do not affect the safety or functionality of the spray.
-
Can I spray outdoors around bodies of water?
-
Wondercide yard sprays are safe to use around lakes, ponds, or other outdoor water features when used as directed. Do not spray directly into the water because sudden changes in water composition can alter pH levels and be stressful for fish or other aquatic life.
